Official Rules and Guidelines
Governor Charlie Crist's Black History Month Excellence in Education Award Contest is open to all African American, full-time educators in an elementary, middle, or high school in Florida. Three winners will be selected: one elementary (K-5) teacher, one middle (6-8) teacher, and one high school (9-12) teacher. Winners will be notified the week of February 22, 2010.
- Completed nomination forms must be mailed to Executive Office of the Governor: Excellence in Education Award Committee, 400 S. Monroe Street, Suite LL-10, Tallahassee, Florida 32399, post-marked by January 22, 2010.
- Nominations may be submitted by a principal, teacher, parent/guardian, or student.
- Winners will receive a check for $1,500. Winners will receive their award at the Governor's Black History Month celebration to be held in Tallahassee in February 2010. Reasonable travel and lodging expenses will be paid for the winners and one immediate family member.
